ACCESSIBILITY POLICY

RealShare Inc. (the “Company” or “RealShare”) is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities in accordance with the accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”) and Ontario’s accessibility laws.  The Company is committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.  The Company believes in integration and is committed to identifying, and to the extent possible, removing and preventing barriers to accessibility.

  • RealShare is committed to meeting its current and ongoing obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code respecting non-discrimination.

  • RealShare understands that obligations under AODA and its accessibility standards do not substitute or limit its obligations under the Human Rights Code or obligations to people with disabilities.

  • The Company’s accessible customer service policies are consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, integration, and equality of opportunity for people with disabilities.

Training

RealShare is committed to training all staff and volunteers in accessible customer service, other Ontario’s accessibility standards and aspects of the Ontario Human Rights Code that relate to persons with disabilities. Training of the Company’s employees and volunteers on accessibility relates to their specific roles.

Training includes without limitation: (i) the purpose of AODA: (ii) the Company’s policies; and (iii) how to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities.

The Company trains every person as soon as practicable after being hired and provides training in respect of any changes to AODA and/or the Company’s policies.  The Company maintains records of the training provided including the dates on which the training was provided.

Assistive Devices

People with disabilities may use their personal assistive devices when accessing the Company’s goods, services and facilities.  In cases where the assistive device presents a significant health or safety concern or may not be permitted for other reasons, other measures will be used to ensure the person with a disability can access the Company’s services.

Communication

RealShare communicates with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability and will work with the person with disabilities to determine what method of communication works for them.

Service Animals & Support Persons

Persons with disabilities may bring their service animal on the parts of RealShare’s premises that are open to the public or other third parties, except where the animal is excluded by law.  When an animal cannot be easily identified as a service animal, the Company’s staff may ask for documentation from a regulated health professional that confirms the person needs the service animal for reasons relating to their disability.  A service animal can be easily identified through visual indicators such as a harness or vest.  If service animals are prohibited by another law, reasonable steps will be taken to accommodate the person with a disability on a case-by-case basis.

A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person accompany them on the parts of the premises that are open to the public or other third parties.

Notice of Temporary Disruption

RealShare will provide notice in the event of a planned or unexpected disruption in the facilities or services usually used by persons with disabilities.  The notice will be posted in a conspicuous place at the Company’s premises and include will information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated duration and a description of alternative facilities or services, if available.

Employment

RealShare notifies employees and job applicants that accommodations can be made during recruitment and hiring.  The Company notifies job applicants when they are individually selected to participate in an assessment or selection process that accommodations are available upon request and, thereafter, consult with the applicants and provide or arrange for suitable accommodation.  The Company notifies successful applicants of policies for accommodating employees with disabilities when making offers of employment.
